Do you know where your strategic plan is?

Over many years of doing persuasive writing for fundraising campaigns, annual funds, and major gifts, one thing has become very clear to me:

Without a strategic plan, your case for support will suffer.

Inevitably, what happens without a plan in place is that the process of writing forces you and your organization to do the planning that ideally would have taken place already.

That slows down your progress, leads to more false starts and rewrites, and — if you’ve hired a consultant like me for help — ends up costing more.

Worse, it can lead to a case that simply isn’t compelling or persuasive to your donors.

But most of all, you’ve missed the opportunity to design a thoughtful planning process that:

  • engages all of your stakeholders.

  • provides meaningful opportunities for reflection on past successes and future goals.

  • generates buy-in from staff.
